Counselling Therapy

Louisa’s primary focus in on building a connection with clients. This is the starting point and foundation of all valuable therapy. From there, the therapist and client are positioned to understand the client’s emotional landscape, worries, low mood, and relationship challenges. Louisa’s approach focuses on understanding the patterns and needs in our primary attachment relationships.

Wattle Psychology offers therapy to children, families, and women and men in the perinatal period on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Therapy spots are limited.

Referrals and rebates

People can see me without a referral. However, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions per year if you have a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP or psychiatrist. They can send this to me via email or fax.

I also see clients who are self-managed or plan-managed through NDIS.

Some private health insurance extra plans provide a rebate on psychology sessions – please check with your insurer. Please note that you cannot claim a Medicare rebate and a private health rebate for the same session.

Cancellation and missed session policy

If you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, I would appreciate as much notice as possible. I reserve your scheduled appointment time just for you, and it is difficult to fill a canceled appointment at short notice.

The full fee is charged for non-attendance. Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time incur a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellations within 48 hours incur a $50 cancellation fee. This fee is applied to ensure business overheads can continue to be paid.

Please note

We believe your psychological recovery will be better served by another service if:

  • You have current involvement with child protection and Family and Community Services.
  • You have a current or enduring psychotic illness or eating disorder.
  • You have long-standing suicidal or homicidal ideation or suicide attempts without a current psychiatrist currently providing you care.
